Nazmu Virani is an Ismaili from the fold of His Highness the Aga Khan. Born in Uganda, he came to live in Britain twenty years ago. He worked energetically for charitable projects, in particular the Prince of Wales's Youth Business Trust, where he was a Trustee.

He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree by Warwick University.
